It was one of the first hot hot afternoons of summer, too much sun to be anywhere else, backwash on ankles, sand on legs and three big puppies tangled up the ropes I'm hanging on to as we walk south west past surfers and sandcastles. Christmas day at Birubi beach, and I'm the happiest girl alive.
