worry

"Please do not worry about the things on which I am decidedly quiet. Please get busy with the things I am shouting at you."

speak

"I have a still small voice," says God. "There are thousands of things I want to tell you. Most of these things you will not hear while the radio, TV or computer is switched on. Not while your phone is in your hand. Not while you're doing a work out video. Not while you're giggling with your girlfriends. Not while you're holding hands with a young gentleman. Not while you've got your own to-do list going over and over and over in your mind. You think you can hear all my words above that noise, but you are wrong. There are things I want you to know that can only be heard in quietness.

You think that quietness will keep your life small and mean. You think the quietness will hold you back, slow you down and keep you down. But you couldn't be more wrong. My words in the quietness will make you rich, give you peace and show you happiness. You'll have passion to rise earlier, smile greater, forgive deeper, stand taller and run further.

This quietness will give you a loud life, loud with the words I will speak."

listen

"I have so much to tell you," God says. "Perhaps we haven't talked in a while, and perhaps you have forgotten how to listen, but I haven't forgotten how to speak to you. I know the ways to reach you, I know what you'll understand. I am not the author of confusion, but of peace. You are timid to come before me, and that's okay, but it is not an excuse to avoid me. Talk again soon?"

Storms

As the rain pelts down may we stand outside and find the courage to keep our eyes open. May we feel every raindrop, witness every cloud, stand in awe of every flash of lightning. And as the sun is buried deep in cloud, may we find inside ourselves the strength to pray for more storms.

Wilbur

May your days be filled with weeping while you grieve for the death of your best friend. May your voice waver, your tears well and your hands tremble. May you find people to cry with, people to say nothing with, and people who will remember with you.

Amongst your sadness, may you speak with the God who created the sun, the stars and the Jack Russell terriers. May this same God create courage and comfort for you.
