water

There is a moment where Shaina and Hayzel and I are at the bay, it's night time, we're holding hands and dangling our feet over the edge of the pier. The dark wind purrs into our faces, into our hair, and the water is moving soft and deep below us, carrying away our secrets, our dreams, our hopes, our fears. Far away lights glint from the other side of the water. It is a quiet and perfect world here, and even when it begins to rain for a few minutes we don't move - tiny drops of icy water flinging themselves against our legs, against our arms, against our shadowed faces. We are talking and talking for so long that the rain comes and goes - our skin dries again and the clouds open up and we lean back to watch some shooting stars. Best friends are truly the best.
